Kristina Asriyan is a captivating actor, singer and dancer
Raised in an artistic multi-cultural and musical family, her love and passion for the performing arts developed at a very early age. At age 4, she began studying dance and music, performing in many local shows and competitions. Kristina studied with the Brighton Ballet Theater Co. with whom she performed in annual productions of The Nutcracker, Chopiana and The Ugly Duckling. She also holds numerous titles in Latin Ballroom Dance and is a principle dancer with Armenian traditional dance ensemble Sirelis.
A graduate of the “FAME” LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts as a vocal-music major, she was a soloist in show choir and gospel choir. At only age 16, Kristina was named the winner and artist of the year in the Our Talented Children Vocal Competition. She was chosen as a solo vocalist to perform classical selections in the American Fine Arts Festival at German Cultural Center and Carnegie Hall. Kristina continued with her creative arts studies at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. At AMDA, she has taken on the parts of Rizzo in Grease, Lola in Damn Yankees, Mimi in Rent and Daisy in Sideshow, amongst others.
In pursuit of her film and theater career, Kristina has worked with numerous independent and student filmmakers at NYFA and NYU and most recently performed in a production of The Rocky Horror Show with The Theater Company and is currently cast as Amneris in the York College Production of AIDA. SAG-AFTRA Eligible, Kristina has done background work on Law & Order SVU, Blue Bloods, The Carrie Diaries, amongst others and had a small part in a Sundance Film Festival film Appropriate Behavior.
